Halloween

30 Oct

The amount of effort some people put into their nails for Halloween is amazing (Source: weheartit.com).

Although I didn’t participate in any Halloween related parties/outings this year, it was still fun to see pictures of people all dressed up for events and also really creative nail art online:)

Here’s a video I found on youtube on how to paint a set of Haunted House nails, it is really nice cos it is quite van gogh-ish. Enjoy!

#36 – Bare

26 Oct

A sight I am not used to but because of the pile of assignments I have to work on, I haven’t had the time to sit down and paint. Plus I thought it would be a good time to let my nails breathe for awhile:)

Here are some tips I found online on how to care for your nails (some of which are the same as those from the Urban feature previously):

1) Wear a sunscreen during the day on your hands and cuticles to prevent sun damage, which can hurt your nails.

2) To help reduce dry and brittle nails is to petroleum jelly (Vaseline). Treating your nails and cuticles with petroleum jelly makes lot of difference.

3) Don’t overuse any kind of nail-polish remover. Use a minimal amount on the nail and avoid getting too much on the cuticle and skin.

4) Don’t use nail products that contain formaldehyde or toluene. They pose health risks for the nail and for your entire body as well.

5) Consume food that is rich in Vitamin B, potassium, iron and calcium, such as soy products, celery, eggs and sea food. These are good for nails.

Till the next time!

#35 – Tiger/Leopard

11 Oct

Still keeping in line with the Jerseylicious theme: A tiger/leopard print set of nails, Hahaha! Tiger because of the colours used and leopard because of the design.

Till the next time!

Galaxy Print

6 Oct

I find the galaxy print extremely fascinating and to see it translated onto nails is amazing.

I would love to try it out one day:)
